The URL and folder are used only when downloading an existing repo. Private repos require your own GitHub sign-in through Git Credential Manager. React, WordPress, and server apps need their own adapters; this version edits HTML/CSS/JavaScript sites.
These settings belong to this website only. Your GitHub password never goes into the editor.
For a starter, first create an empty repo in your GitHub account. An existing remote will never be replaced here. Connect that repo to your website host separately. GitHub sign-in is handled by Git Credential Manager when needed.
